Troop 670 attends annual summer camp at Rotary Scout Reservation in Poestenkill, NY.  All scouts and adults planning to attend summer camp must have a current medical form with a physical in the last 12 months.  A link to this form can be found on the forms page.

Camperships are available to help cover the costs of camp for scouts.  Please ask the troop leadership if you are considering a campership.

Parents are encouraged to attend the Family BBQ on Wednesday evening.  Details can be found here.

Directions to camp can be found here. The address is 279 Davitt Lake Rd, Averill Park, NY 12018.  The phone number to camp is (518) 283-4794. Please do not drop in to camp without calling and advising the troop leaders at camp.  Parents are welcome on Wednesday evening, but other visits can cause anxiety and homesickness.  Thanks for your cooperation!

American Heritage, Archery, Art, Astronomy, Basketry, Bird Study, Camping, Canoeing, Climbing, Cooking,  Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, Fingerprinting, Fire Safety, First Aid, Fish and Wildlife Management, Fishing, Forestry, Geocaching, Geology, Indian Lore, Insect Study, Leatherwork, Lifesaving , Mammal Study, Metalwork, Nature, Oceanography, Orienteering, Photography, Pioneering, Reptile and Amphibian Study, Rifle Shooting, Safety, Search & Rescue, Shotgun Shooting, Small-Boat Sailing, Soil and Water Conservation, Swimming, Traffic Safety, Weather, Wilderness Survival, Wood Carving.  

New Merit Badges offered in 2018 are Law and Backpacking.

RSR is proud to offer two exciting specialty week programs for summer camp!  These programs are open to all Boy Scouts and Venturers.

VENTURING WEEK 

  • We’ll be highlighting program and training activities from BSA’s Venturing program, in addition to the full high quality Boy Scout resident camp program offered the rest of the summer.  The Venturing activities will be open to all Venturers and older Boy Scouts!

STEM WEEK

  • RSR’s highly popular and successful STEM Week program returns this year, offering Scouts the opportunity to experience merit badge programs in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Specific merit badges to be announced.

Scouts also have the opportunity to attend an additional week of summer camp as a provisional camper.  Please ask the troop leadership if you are interested in this program.
